Announcement for the 4th Touma Cup Judo Tournament - Individual Participation Slots Now Open

(About the Touma Cup Judo Tournament)

The 4th edition of the Toma Cup Judo Tournament is a local Japanese judo competition held near Chitose Airport in Hokkaido.

 

The characteristic of this tournament, which has approximately 200 participants, is that it is not just about winning in judo. People of all ages, from children to adults, can participate, and matches are arranged according to each individual's skill level, making it an event where participants can fully experience the results of their regular training.

 

The tournament is held over two days. On the first day, individual matches are held for preschoolers to middle school students, and on the second day, individual matches for adults and a team competition featuring a mix of adults and children are conducted.

 

Especially, the team competition on the second day features a unique mixed-team format of adults and children, and every year, it delivers exciting and heartfelt matches that leave a lasting impression.

 

(About the current Participation slots)

The participation slots available this time are for the adult individual competition held on December 7th. The categories are divided by age: 18 to 27 years old, 28 to 37 years old, 38 to 47 years old, and 48 and above. Participants will be grouped based on their age and skill level, ensuring that everyone can perform to the best of their abilities in the matches.

 

This is a valuable opportunity to experience the excitement of a local judo tournament in Japan. Please consider participating. The venue tends to be very crowded, but spectators are welcome for free, so if you have any interest, please contact us. The application deadline is November 30, 2025.

  3. Eligibility

  • Adult male participants aged 18 and above
    Participants must be insured, such as through a sports safety insurance, at their own responsibility.
  1. Competition Method
  • Individual matches (Adult category)
    ① Men aged 18-27
    ② Men aged 28-37
    ③ Men aged 38-47
    ④ Men aged 48 and above
    Generally conducted as one-match bouts, but the categories and match formats may be adjusted depending on the number of participants.
  1. Referee Regulations
    (1) Match Duration: 3 minutes for adults
    (2) Judging Criteria　Individual matches
  • Conducted according to the International Judo Federation referee regulations and youth tournament guidelines. However, for the adult category, the matches follow the International Judo Federation referee regulations.
  • Victory is determined by "Ippon" or "Shido" of level 1 or higher. If there is no point difference, the winner is decided by close judgment. (Golden score is not used.)

  • 5,000 yen per person

  • Organized strictly by the event organizers

       9.Others
       (1) Any abusive language toward referees or objections to referee         decisions will not be tolerated. Offenders will be asked to leave the venue.
       (2) Please take your trash home with you.
       (3) The organizers are not responsible for any accidents or theft that may occur on the day of the event.
